This is shaping up to be an excellent season. After three episodes, Shinsekai yori is looking to me as if it could become a masterpiece. Kyo-ani's Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai is engaging and funny and out-moeing K-On. Suki-tte Ii na yo may be one of the most satisfying shoujo romances I've seen. And those are just the beginning.
I'm a couple of weeks late with this, but here is a calendar showing what's on each day of the week, including both new and continuing shows, with some info about cast and staff. Click here or on the image to go to the full schedule:
And here is a list of the new shows, day by day, with brief comments about the ones I've seen:
sunday
Oshiri Kajiri Mushi
Magi – Excellent so far. A well-constructed shounen fantasy world, and the wonderful voice of Ishihara Kaori.
Hiiro no Kakera 2
Teekyuu
Ixion Saga: Dimension Transfer
monday
Aikatsu!
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo– Naked moe, starring Kayano Ai as an artistic genius who is so absorbed in her art that she can’t even dress herself. Worked for me. Brilliantly directed.
Girls und Panzer
Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun– Good shoujo in which the nose-to-the-grindstone girl falls in mutual love with the good-guy wild man.
Kami-sama Hajimemashita– Another well-done shoujo show, in which our heroine loses her home to her father's gambling debts and ends up as the goddess of a local shrine, in constant conflict with her tsundere bishounen familiar.
Litchi De Hikari Club
tuesday
Chou Soku Henkei Gyrozetter
Jormungand: Perfect Order– More of the same excellent dark adventure that the first series provided
Wooser no Sono Higurashi
wednesday
Monsuno
Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!– Kyo-ani out-moes its own K-On with a cute little middle-school girl who is sunk in her own fantasies and drags the lead boy with her.
Medaka Box: Abnormal
Hayate the Combat Butler: Can`t Take My Eyes Off You
thursday
Gintama
Btooom!
Psycho-pass– Well-done dystopic-future police adventure with violence.
Robotics;Notes– A dying school robotics club saves itself by building a robot to defend the Earth. Started well, for me.
Hidamari Sketch x Honeycomb
K– Weird and wonderful combination of bishounen urban violence with humorous fantasy, featuring another girl who likes to go naked (and is really a cat).
Busou Shinki– Flying fights among beautiful six-inch female robots, three of whom form our hero’s mini-harem. Didn't do much for me.
Zetsuen no Tempest: The Civilization Blaster -- Director Andou Masahiro gives this story of world-threatening magic great style, and Uchiyama Kouki, Toyonaga Toshiyuki, Sawashiro Miyuki, and Hanazawa Kana hit a lot of the right notes.
friday
Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne!– Bro-con fantasy that may outdo Kiss x Sis for the intensity of the sister's desire, but stars a 14-year-old seiyuu as the sister. The seiyuu is promising, but I'm not sure about the show.
Shinsekai Yori– Outstanding through three episodes. High-school students' adventures in a brilliantly conceived strange future Earth. Could become a masterpiece.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012)
To Love-Ru Trouble - Darkness
saturday
Bakuman 3
Haitai Nanafa
Little Busters– Some people love this highly-awaited game adaptation, but the first episode fell flat, for me.
Seitokai no Ichizon Level 2
Suki-tte Ii na yo– Wonderful straightforward shoujo story of the average girl with whom the school bishounen falls in love. Well directed by Satou Takuya and starring the outstanding duo of Sakurai Takahiro and Kayano Ai.
Code: Breaker– Clumsy but engaging story of a strong black-belt girl and a guy who uses special powers to eliminate evil-doers.
